Interactive Assembly Fixtures. An interactive assembly fixture is an assembly fixture used to assemble parts in a factory. Unlike a conventional fixture, the interactive fixture interacts with the worker who is using it. For example,a fixture may have an electric screwdriver installed on it. The worker using the fixture may be required to place parts on the fixture, and fasten them together, using the electric screwdriver. The screwdriver has a sensor in it that senses the amount of torque that is applied to the screws. If the user tightens the screws too tight or too loosely, the fixture's computer detects the error, and activates a clamp. The clamp holds the part,so the worker cannot remove the part from the fixture. The only way to get the part out is to call the supervisor, and admit that an error had been made. The supervisor then unlocks the fixture using a key,or a computer password.

Interstate Highways. The interstate highway system is a system of roads built by the federal government, they are usually called freeways. Freeways are sometimes called 'limited-access highways'. The term 'limited-access' means pedestrians and bicycles are not permitted on freeways. Only motorized vehicles, such as cars, trucks and motorcycles are permitted on freeways. Freeways are numbered according to an odd-even numbering system. Freeways that run north and south are numbered with odd numbers, for example,Interstate 75 which runs from Florida to Michigan. Freeways that run east and west are numbered with even numbers, for example,Interstate 40 which runs from Texas to California.
